2014 Favorites!

2014 has been an eventful year for me. I've learned a lot and I have to say, it has been one of the best! Here are my 2014 favorites, enjoy :)

Random:

Friends

Every year, I am very thankful for the amount of friends I have and the one's I've made throughout the year. I have to say that my friends are basically the highlight of my year. You know, it's not the amount of things you have in life that make you happy. Material things can make you happy for a short amount of time but friends are like treasures. I love collecting them, because the happiness I get from them is infinite. Treasures are hard to find, and sometimes you find some that aren't meant for you, but either way, you learn, you grow. So, I am very thankful for the treasures that I've had for years. Sarah, Lindsay, Meeka, Kim, Hannah and Shirley, I love you guys. You've been the greatest friends and sisters for life! Nur, Jeanne, Leira and Majdoleen, I'm glad that I have found unique treasures this year that I am going to love forever :)

Skechers Sneakers

I've never really been a fan of Skechers, but there was a point during the year where I really needed to purchase a good pair of sneakers for work. I figured, since all my other co-workers were buying Skechers, I would try them out as well, and oh my gosh, they are the comfiest sneakers I have ever owned. They are lined with a memory foam on the inside that makes you feel like your walking on pillows! No joke :)

Chain Rings

I've been obsessed with these gold chain rings! I just love the simplicity of them. You can never own too many of these!

Polaroid

Isn't it ironic how our generation these days seem to find the things we used in the past very favorable? When Polaroids existed, we hoped for Digital cameras, when Digital cameras existed, we hoped for DSLR camera and when DSLR existed we became obsessed with the ideas of Polaroids all over again. It's funny how this circle goes around! None the less, I love Polaroids. I always have. And this year, I've made a pretty good use out of mine! :)

Game of Life

My sister and I had this board game for almost 7 years and no matter how much we play the game, it never gets old. It definitely is a great entertainment for family game nights!

 Faux Leather Jacket

This is my " go-to " jacket. It's black so it goes with pretty much anything you wear! Definitely my fav jacket of the year :)

Make-up/Skincare:

Benefit They're Real Mascara

This is by far the best mascara I've ever tried. It lengthens my lashes and gives it a crazy amount of thickness, it's unreal. Hence, the name, They're Real ;) See what I did there :P

Mac Cyber Lipstick

Through out the year, I've always managed to have this in my make-up bag. I don't know why but I always find my self using this lipstick to mix and match with other colors. It definitely is a beautiful color on, as well as a great one when mixed with others :)

Mac Soar Lip Pencil

I got this lip pencil around mid-november because I was looking for a lip color that was kind of natural but not too " dead looking " on the lips. So, I took my chances with this lip liner and this literally is my go to lip color ;)

Naked Basics Palette

All year round fav! Love this palette! I already hit pan since I use this every single day :)

F.A.B Ultra Repair Cream

I can't write enough about how much I love this product! It is the only moisturizer I've found that does not break me out or leave me dry throughout the day. I love this product so much and I know that it's going to be in my 2015 favorites as well!

EOS Lipbalm

Great lip moisturizer. I use this every morning and night before bed time :)

Drinks:

Starbucks Caramel Macchiato
THE. BEST. COFFEE. DRINK. EVER!

Teavana
I cannot count how many cups of tea I've taken down from this place! I love Teavana!

Movies:

The Fault In Our Stars
Movie of the year! I love Shailene Woodley, she's my favorite! Oh, there you go, my fav actress of 2014 would have to be her! :)

The Other Woman
I've never laughed harder in 2014. This movie was soooo good! A good movie for a girls night or a sleepover :)

Music:

Taylor Swift

1989
Taylor Swift just keeps getting better and better. Fav album of 2014 and out of all her albums out there! I blogged about how much I loved this album too! :)

Sam Smith

In The Lonely Hour
Sam Smith? Oh gosh, His music is just so beautiful and his voice always relaxes me!

Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran has always been one of those artists that I put off and never really quite listened to. But I recall one day hearing Thinking Out Loud on the iTunes radio and I completely fell in-love with the song and that's where my interest for his music started.

Hope you guys had an amazing 2014 and here's to an even better year ahead! Happy 2015 everyone, let's make it a memorable one :)

Love,
Lala

Qout Market: December 2014

I'm so excited to blog about my experience last Saturday! I finally got the chance to go to the Qout Market, an event that happens once during the 1st Saturday of every month. I came to know about this event from one of my best friends, Sarah. I got really excited to visit the place after she had told me lots about it.

Qout Market is basically like a farmers market, they sell various things that are organic and healthy. They offer lots of food and many handmade and artsy things such as necklaces, mason jars, plants, flowers, books and more!

As the day finally stepped in, my sister, brother and I decided to attend the event pretty early a.k.a when it actually opened. The market was held at the roof top of Al-Raya Shopping Center. The sun was bright and the weather was just perfect for a day to explore and discover new things!

You just might find me there! ;)

I found it very amusing just looking at all the things people were selling. What I loved most about it is that, everything was unique. The items that were sold were all pieces that I've never seen anywhere else before. I guess that's what makes the Qout Market special. You find things you don't expect to find regularly. More so, it's like your finding antique things. Antique in a way that you could find things that no one would ever have :)

As for the prices, I would say that some of the things that were being sold in the market were pretty high-end. Items would range from 5kd above.

I guess my favorite part about the market is the food... obviously :P Most of the food that was being sold were organic and healthy. I love having a good meal that's super delicious and healthy at the same time. Makes you feel less guilty if you want to have some more ;) I loved the drinks they were selling too! I started the day off with one of the pressed juice from Juiced called Lemogranate Juice. It had quite a bitter taste but it was just right to start off my day! I would have to say though, that my favorite drink that I had there was the Almond Milk from Purple Sunflowers, it was very light, refreshing and sweet all at the same time! :)

My brother definitely enjoyed all the samples that were offered at the market! :)

Shout out to the guys at the Zain photo booth for providing free photos at their photo booth for all the people who came! :) Here's our shots!

How gorgeous are these flowers?!! <3

For lunch, I had this delicious breakfast burrito (breakfast, I know hehe) I'm not lying when I say that this was the best burrito I have ever had! The tortilla was home made as well as the beef chorizo inside! The booth was called Solo Tacos. Here's the link to their website and you can find the address on there if you ever happen to find yourself in Kuwait City craving for some delicious burritos and tacos ;)

I only got to purchase a single thing and it was this mason jar. I've been wanting one of these for way too long and I was so excited when I found this one! It was around 5kd if I'm not mistakes :) There were other colorful mason jars as well, which were so cute and they were about 7-8kd each. This booth was called Gypsy Souls and they had a ton of gorgeous things! Here is the link to their Instagram, in case any of you guys are interested in buying their stuff :)

Before leaving the market, we had one of the hotdog from " Juicy Wieners ". It wasn't really my favorite, I felt the bread was too dry and I wasn't a fan of their choices of toppings, but the hotdog itself was really good! Their sweet potato fried strips were pretty good too!

These candles are all handmade and the lady that sold them said that it takes about 30mins to an hour to make each one. She also mentioned that you have to be quick in order to create their unique designs since wax sets pretty quick :) These candles are so beautiful and gorgeous at the same time!

At around 1pm, they had a band play some really good music! :)

Look out next month, January 3rd for their next event! See you guys there ;)

Lala
